NYC Debark, Flight Home

Looking at flights for our cruise out of NYC in June. Will we be able to make a Noon flight out of JFK? We have never sailed out of NYC, I know a Noon flight is ok for MIami but worried about this one!

Assuming your ship docks on time and there no clearance problems Noon from JFK should work.

A couple of other things come into play. Day of the week and time you get off the ship. On a weekday morning it might take an hour just to get across Manhattan.

Noon is tight.

Personally I would look for something at 1:00 PM.

Why?

Ships can encounter delays arriving to the port or getting cleared.

Traffic

Stepped up security at the airpot.

Depends on your traveling style. I wouldn't hesitate to get that flight. Last month I made a 10:30a LGA flight. on a weekday. I self walked off, ready to go 45 minutes ahead of the posted time. I walked to Circle Line got on the 42 bus, to the R train to Roosevelt, to Q 70 bus. (no stairs)

IF I were going to JFK, I'd gotten off the 42 bus at 8th Ave, headed down stair and gotten on the A train - Far Rockaway NOT Lefferts to JFK. the Airtrain to terminals.

It looks like the OP would be doing this on Tuesday, July 3, 2018.

I agree. The OP is from North Carolina. New Yorkers know their way around the city and are equipped understand morning traffic reports and make better alternative choices if a plan B or plan C is required.

Newark Airport is only 11 miles by turnpike from Cape Liberty and we don't ever like to recommend flights before noon for out of towners. JFK is even further from the Manhattan Cruiseport via local city streets and crowded roadways that have a long history of daily traffic congestion.

Thank you all for the replies. I decided against the noon flight, I don't need to be worried about missing our plane. We are booking a flight for 1:30.
