Thoughts on Maison St. Charles or Old #77 Hotel & Chandlery

Anyone have any thoughts about either place?

I have stayed at the Maison St. Charles once because it was on St Charles for Mardi Gras. The hotel was in pretty poor condition and the beds were AWFUL! It has outdoor corridors which I don't find particularly safe. I would look elsewhere unless you are really budget constrained.

I concur with nolatravelgirl. I booked maison st Charles once on a real expensive weekend. Didn’t want to stay there but didn’t have many options. Fortunately they overbooked and paid for me to stay at a better place. I haven’t stayed at the old no. 77 but it looks a lot better.

Thanks Saint Greg. Think I will cross off Maison St Charles. Do you have any thoughts on the Hampton Inn Convention Center. It is close to the port and a few blocks from the Riverside trolley for exploring .

Haven’t stayed there but quite a few people on here have and I haven’t read a negative comment on it yet.
