Anyone do a ship sponsored "accessible" island tour in St. Kitts? Regardless of ship

Regardless of ship just Curious what you saw/did? Many of the different ships excursions seem to all be very vague in what is seen/done during the tours, one thing a majority have in common they don't mention any beach stops which is fine with me.

Asking here since on the St. Kitts and other ports boards always get people who don't grasp "accessible" issues.

How accessible do you need?

Do you need a lift, or can you get into a regular car seat?

Would you be content to ride around the island and see it, or do you want to get out and do something?

St. Kitts is not very accessible the last time I looked - at least away from Port Zante. Most taxi drivers go to Romney Manner, the Batik factory and the garden, which is NOT accessible. Brimstone Hill is the ruins of the old fort, and again, is NOT accessible. The last time we were there, two years ago, the beach had a bar that might be accessible, but nothing else.

You'd potentially be just as well off booking a private tour through a provider and discussing your specific needs. We like a gentleman named York, and have been with him a couple of times, going back next week. You can search for St. Kitts Taxi Driver York online and find him. His wife, Sabs, will generally answer email.

  • 4 weeks later...

If you find transportation going to the fort is still nice. You can’t go inside but just the main area, the trip up the hill and the spectacular view are worth it. The grounds of the batik factory are lovely as well, but being hundreds of years old irs not accessible inside. Check with Thenford Grey of Grey Tours for advice and help. He is AMAZING!
