Best San Juan Hotel

Recommended Posts

We need a Hotel for 1 night in San Juan before our February 17th Carnival

fascination cruise. We fly in late and board the ship the following day so we don’t need beach access but a pool would be nice. Please advise of where to stay and if any offer shuttle service. Thank you!

try the Sheraton downtown Old San Juan. There is also another near the other pier. Best to google it, Hotels at san juan port. The area of condado will also work. However, I would suggest you call and see if they are operating. Some hotels are opened but no air condition due to generator and only the first few floor are available. Is consider just a long distance call not an international call. Also the Hampton Inn in Isla verde but not sure if they are opened. El Convento in old san juan as well.

After the Hurricane many hotels were damaged or taken over by FEMA to help in the recovery. We're staying at the San Juan Airport Hotel. No frills but convenient and includes breakfast. We too are arriving late and just needed a night to sleep. Will take a taxi to the pier the next day. After making the reservation I emailed the hotel just to confirm that they had the reservation (which they did).

Both the LaConcha Renaisaance Resort and the Marriott Resort and Casino are now up to full speed in the Condado area. LaConcha has an outdoor pool aimed more towards adults and a beach but watch the warnings as there can be undertow. Bring ear plugs if you will be there on a Friday or Saturday night. This area has been recently reinvented as it fell hard from its glory days of the 1950s and 1960s. Great neighborhood with many friendly bars and casual restaurants abound. Lots of young families at the park a block away having dinner and watching their little ones play soccer. Many single women jog without fear after dark also. Easy trip to the Old Town Port, a bit more to the Cargo terminal across the bay but not much. Oh, LaConcha has a sign in around 4 to 6pm. Make arrangements if that is too long to wait for a room. The people there have always been great to us. And remember to not wear camouflage clothing of any color while visiting the Caribbean, Enjoy!
