Transportation Advice

We are a family of 3 arriving on the Summit. We are considering splitting one day between Hamilton and Horseshoe Bay and one day in the St George area as well as trying to get to The Crystal Caves. Our last day we may book Hidden Gems with Celebrity. Any advice/suggestions are welcome. We are willing to use taxis at times if that is easier and less wait time.

You can take the ferry from the Dockyard to St George and then use taxis- that’s what we did. It took the big expensive ride out by using the ferry which made the overall taxi costs more reasonable. The on island ride hailing app Hitch will really simplify using the taxis there as it lets you call them like Uber and pay by credit card (which usually isn’t available when you just call or hail them conventionally).

Hamilton is an easy taxi ride from Horseshoe (stop for a drink at the Fairmont Southampton after the beach for some air conditioning) and then you can take another ferry from Hamilton back to the Dockyard- again eliminating a more expensive taxi ride.

Using a blend of both ferry’s and cars you can really contain costs while still getting the benefits and flexibility of using taxis.

On Wednesday you could do Horseshoe Bay during the day. Take the $7 minibus there or a taxi. In the evening is Harbour Nights in Hamilton. Take the ferry there and back. On Thursday take the ferry to St. George’s. Take a taxi to Crystal Caves. Then back to St. George’s by taxi for the ferry.
