Cruise not sold out - What does Regent do??

I am on a cruise that leaves in 10 days and there are still about 60 unsold cabins - mostly in the 6 lower classes G2 to E. The amount of cabins sold in the last 5 days has been about 3.

I have not received an upsell offer yet. Does anyone know what Regent does with this many unsold cabins? They do not seem to lower the price as shown on the Regent website and several other cruise sites.

Will they offer complimentary upgrades at check in if there are still vacancies?

Will they offer last minute low prices to travel agents?

There are enough vacant F1, F2, E and D cabins that they could move all the lower H, G2 and G1 passangers to those vacancies and still have room to spare.

Thanks

There will likely be last minute upsells as well as offers to passengers on the cruise before and after yours to extend their cruise at a discounted rate.

I have not known Regent to give last minute free upgrades. They tend to keep making upsell and cruise extension offers until they fill most vacant suites.

It is interesting that the F1 and F2 suites have availability as they (as well as "D" and "E" category suites) are amongst the best on the Explorer. The "G" and "H" suites on the other hand are not desirable for many Regent guests due to the size.

You may want to call your TA and have them ask to check on upsell offers. Most TA's get the upsell offers from Regent and then it is their responsibility to pass the offers along to their customers.

We are going on the Explorer ...January 30th.

Have not been offered any upsell.

Do you reside in the U.K.? It seems that people in the U.K. get more discounts but less upsell offers. It gets too confusing to determine all of the differences between the U.K. and North America.

Enjoy your Explorer cruise!
