First time on Marella

Recommended Posts

Hi

I have a few questions. Going on Cuban Fusion April 3rd. Flying from Toronto Canada to Montego Bay.

Once we land in Montego Bay Do we get our luggage and then need to go thru security. Then do we proceed to the coaches. At the ship do we get tags for our luggage with our cabin # on them if we alr day don’t have them from our TA.

After cruise do we pick up our luggage in cruise warehouse go thru security and then take it to coaches and then go thru security again at Montego Bay airport and then onto our airlines.

TA has not booked anyone on this cruise before and does not know the process so I am asking here for any information.

Many thanks.

addicted cruiser, we join the ship on the 10/4/18 in Jamaica till 28/4/18 our 1st Thomson cruise. We are literally in the same boat as you regarding having no idea either and unable to access any information. We fly from Scotland to Jamaica Montego Bay. I would be most grateful if anyone could provide me with the same information as yourself.

Thank you.

We were on the Cuban Fusion & Mayan Treasures cruises last year.

If you're on a Marella/Tui/Thomson package from the UK you check in your bags at the airport and wont see them again until they arrive outside you cabin door. On arrival you miss immigration control and go straight to the ship by coach.

On return you leave your cases outside your cabin the night before your departure flight and you pick them up from the conveyor at your home airport. Luggage labels with cabin numbers are distributed at the home airport.

With regard to Canadian travellers, guess you must have a Sunwing packake eg https://www.sunwing.ca/en/cruise-travel/ship-detail/tui-discovery2.

Not sure if they have the same procedure as UK packages but it's not really acceptable for your TA to say they don't know the procedure, couldn't they just phone Sunwing and ask?

I was on this cruise last year from Gatwick. We did have to stop at immigration - just to hand in the form you fill out on the plane (sorry can't remember what form it was), but no need to collect any luggage. We also had a police escort from the Airport to the Ship........

Hi everyone, we are on a Marella cruise next month. You should get your tags at the departure airport for your cases, and you will not see your cases again, until you arrive at the Ship. Have a great time.
This only applies if flying from the UK. The OP is flying from Canada and asking about the procedure for them.

  • 2 weeks later...

Helen Henry we get on Discovery 2 in Montego Bay 3rd April and as has been said you will not see your luggage again until the ship once you have checked in at the Airport but as youre doing the Transatlantic as we are when you arrive in Palma 28th April you will have to pick your luggage up portside and put on the coach with you to the airport

Last week on Cuban Fusion, Glass House was open for late night snacks from 2130 through to 0100. A range of hot snacks and a few sandwiches, cakes etc were available the night I went.
