Specific laundry question

Hi all,

First post here! I've booked my first cruise on Silversea for this December! My mom and I will be on the Dec 22 Silver Cloud to Antarctica and I've been working on my packing list. One outstanding question I have after reading all these posts (which are super helpful!): I'm allergic to perfumes and dyes in laundry detergent. We'll need to do laundry on board, and I've read that they provide detergent, but I'm wondering if it will be something I can use. I can bring my own if necessary, but would prefer not to if there will be something I can use on board.

The detergent is very harsh in my opinion.I believe using other detergent is not allowed but not sure.I take laundry balls you can buy on line .They work great.Take up no room and are non foaming so does not hurt the machine.Also fabric sheets if you use them.

I agree. The detergent is harsh. If I had any skin issues, I would not use it.

Allergies in our family means we always bring our own laundry products. You’ll have absolutely no problem using whatever you bring with you.

My wife, who is sensitive to fragrances, did not find this detergent objectionable. However, we only used about half of the dosage prescribed.
