Does the SPA close while in port?

I'm a first time Disney cruiser. I was thinking of booking a couples massage for a port day where my wife and I decided that we would rather stay on the ship. When I went to reserve, I found that pretty a whole window of time was blocked out (and I checked multiple port days as well). I find this odd, since usually the spa is begging for people on port days. Does Disney close the spa for a period of time on port days?

The spa remains open while the ships are in port. In fact there are often "port day specials" available if bookings are not filled at regular prices. While on line bookings may not be available, you can almost always get what you want by going to the spa on embarkation day.

If it was Nassau, many people have the same idea as you and might have already booked.

There are large blocks of prime spa time blocked for concierge passengers that are released late the first day of the cruise. If you don't get an appt. before then, try after you board.
