Good seafood spots in KW

Conch Republic's food has improved greatly. So much so that we had lunch there today.

Half Shell Raw bar serves more seafood than any other place on the island.

Right off hand, I can't recall a menu that has flounder listed.

Flounder is not a local fish, so I'm not sure why you would look for it here. It will be frozen.

Try snapper. It is white and flaky like flounder, but is local and fresh.

I don't care for Conch Republic, but I do like Half Shell Raw Bar. I also recommend Blackfin Bistro. They have a back garden that is very casual and have excellent fresh local fish. Blue Heaven also has great yellowtail snapper.

Conch Republic is super touristy but seafood is very good. Wherever you go, you can't go wrong w/ a plate of Key West Pink shrimp as a starter. Other good choices,(besides Red Snapper) are Grouper and Yellowtail.

Grouper?

Yes, grouper is local and widely available in season, which is May 1 to January 1. Other choices are Hogfish, mahi-mahi and cobia. As mentioned above, we also have local snapper, typically yellowtail, but you do see mangrove snapper as well.
