Transfers to/from Houston to Galveston

Any feedback would be helpful. Going on Liberty on Nov. 12. Arriving in Houston (Hobby) the day before. Was considering using Uber to go to Galveston but was concerned with the return and what time to schedule it for or is it just easier to use one of the shuttle services? Thanks.

Last July, we rented a car as we wanted to visit the Space Center the day before, then drove down and parked at the EZ Lot, did self disembarking and drove back to Bush. It was less costly to get our room outside Galveston and drive the 30 minutes.

We just went on Liberty at the beginning of October. We flew into IAH and did an uber down to Galveston. With tip it was less than what the cruise bus would have been but a little more than what the shuttle would have been. But we didn't have to wait for the shuttle (it would have been about an hour and a half wait). On the way back, we did the cruise bus which worked well since we didn't have to stress about finding an uber and all of that stuff.

The only issue we had was the uber from the hotel to the ship because it is not a cruise friendly area so we sat at a standstill for about 45 minutes. Just make sure the driver knows to go through town to avoid the traffic.
