We're considering doing this trip out of NY to Bahamas and Florida in February with our kids 10 months, 6, and 8. It's not my ideal trip, I've done these ports on my last two cruises, but I can't get over my fear of flying and I want to go away in February, so I guess I have no choice. Do you think this ship will have enough activities to keep us busy on sea days and when it's too cold to be outside?

It's a big, newer ship and they have kids' clubs for each of your age brackets - splash academy for the older 2 and guppies for the little one. Plus a toy room for the little one where they can play supervised by you in case the kids club is too much for them at that age.

I'd say as far as it compares to other lines, it's up there with Royal and Carnival for stuff for kids to do.

I'm not certain about colder weather because there are the pools, slides and outdoor mini golf/ropes course etc but I'd assume they have movies indoors during the sea days if it's cold?

If you're worried about flying, have you considered driving down to Florida for more options?

You’ll probably lose 1 1/2 days each way due to the cold. The 2 older kids will be fine and entertained in Splash Academy. My 6yo didn’t want to leave. There will be activities planned throughout the day We usually spend the tine in the casino but no children allowed there

I just got off the Escape on September 2nd. My girls were 5 and 8 and my 6 year old niece was also on board.

They all had a wonderful time and loved the Splash Academy.

They also enjoyed the glow party with face painting, water slides, spash area, pool, etc. The adults went to Bingo and the kids were able to play for free.

We spent 12 days on Escape last September (thank you Irma). There is a lot to do on board, but I think the cool sea days might be really LONG. I'm not sure there are any ideal ships for this situation. That said, I do have pictures of me in a heavy coat and hat, and my kids in the pool and an Alaskan glacier in the background. For your northern kids, it might not be an issue.
