Absolutely interested. We are on Quest in April and are following your every post with great interest. On the one hand, if the shows are only reasonably good, it will be better than seeing shows we've been to multiple times.

Please keep on with your updates and opinions.

I liked both 54 Below performers. DW liked the second, but not the first. She said that he did not hit the high notes. I told Russ, when he asked where she was, because Mrs Music Critic skipped his second performance.

Three nights ago we attended both shows. Usually the first and second shows are the same, but that night they weren't. The first show was big band music, including Skylark and Stardust. It was a 5 person band, but they did a good job. Liz and I grew up with our parents listening to this music and loved it. The second show was a one man performance by Russ Grieve, Cruise Director. He performed songs by his idols, Peter, Paul and Mary, Puff, Glenn Campbell, Gentle on my mind, Neil Diamond,Solitary Man, Elvis, Viva Las Vegas. He also appeared in Mama Mia and sang some of those songs.

Two great shows!!

The ship is rocking and rolling right now. Russ announced that they extended the stabilizers.

Yes, we are all very interested. More details about the entertainment would be lovely. Many thanks to anyone onboard Quest or Journey right now.

How did White Night work out? Who is doing Trivia?

White Night was very good. It was in Cabo San Lucas and tendering was required. It came off without a hitch....no easy feat arranging to tender everyone and then there was a 20-25 min bus ride to the desert event site. Upon arrival the crew was waiting for us with drinks and appetizers. The weather was perfect.

I think that trivia is hosted by Earnest, the new assistant CD and I have seen Russ there as well. I am not doing trivia, but have walked by while it is going on in Spirits.

There are no large screens on Quest as yet in Spirits. There is one in Mosaic Cafe, up against a window that advertises entertainment, beverage packages, City Theater shorts on ships, etc. (kind of tacky).

There has been guitar and piano in Spirits without vocals, the new trio has been entertaining in LR, poolside, during White Night. The shorts on ships is tonight, our last night, and has not been popular. I think the attendance will be thin tonight.

Do they still have the table casino games on Quest? I have read that they have already been taken out of Journey, but haven't seen any mention about Quest yet. Keeping my fingers crossed that they will still be there at the end of March.

Still here for now. They were quite busy earlier today.

Did you mean the Azamazing Evening? White Night has always been on the pool deck, not ashore.

Not sure anyone is interested or following this thread....but we were not as impressed with last nights performance as much as the first 54 Below performer. She was good, but not exceptional. She was typical of most other cruise ship vocalists we have seen.

We didn’t go to either of the singers, not our “cup of tea”.

The first night of “shorts on ships” we left after the first play. We did go to the 3rd performance and they were decent. They Tango one had us laughing. It was funny and a bit sad when the dining room applauded upon hearing that last nights show was canceled due to the actors not handing the rough seas very well.

We did enjoy Russ’s show.

We walked thru Spirits in the evening and could barely hear the pianist with all the chatter at the bar. Our last time cruising Azamara, prior to this was 6ish years ago when the pianist was in the Mosaic, which we thought was a good venue.

We did not care for the Sparking Trio,

The Azamazing Evening and White night were both fabulous.

It’s funny and sad that my DH predicted that management would use the rough seas as an excuse or find some other reason to cancel the evening performance of the short plays. We had to laugh when we heard the announcement. I am not sure if those short plays are going to make it for long.

In fairness, this new concept is recruiting singers and actors from land-based venues to replace the Azamara entertainers who had lots of sailing experience. And it isn't likely they are paying for understudies, so if one important cast member is 'riding the rails' the show can't go on.
