Hello fellow Cunarders!

Hoping that you can provide some insight on Venice QV embarkation in September 22. Times have been posted yet.

1) How early can one check into QV on embarkation day docked in Venice?

2) Can one leave afterwards to continue sight seeing?

3) Typically when does QV set sail from Venice in September?

Thank you!

I'll be embarking in Rome a week later!

1. Check in times are staggered to reduce passenger bottlenecks forming. However, boarding normally starts at midday for Grills guests and then staggered boarding from 12.30pm. I found boarding in Venice to be a really easy affair on QE in 2014. I arrived at midday and had no trouble. The cruise terminal is spacious and quite well set out. I was surprised given it is Italy.

2. In 2014 they asked at check in whether I wished to go ashore. I didn't, but those who did were given special slips of paper. Not all ports let you leave the ship once checked in, but Venice certainly allowed it. Not sure if that's changed since. Best to check with Cunard.

3. Sailings out of Venice seem to be during the evening. I had a late sitting for 8.30pm and it was around this time that we cruised past St Mark's Square (late rush of people to dinner shortly after). Such an amazing experience!

I hope this helps.

That is certainly in order Kittenkboo.

You may wish to check out this review of mine regarding the transport links around the cruise port...
