HAL transfer from Montreal airport to Quebec City center?

Has anyone taken the HAL transfer from the Montreal airport to a Quebec City (center area) hotel the day before a cruise? If so, how does it work and what did you think of the experience? Cost?

Are you sure has a transfer to Quebec City? My impression was that HAL used Montreal as a turnaround port. Montreal to Quebec City is 3.5 hours .

HAL uses both. Their smaller ships (Maasdam/Veendam) can sail down to Montreal, the larger ones must dock in Quebec City.

Just looked at fall 2019 and the ship turns around in Montreal. Only the Zuiderdam does turn around in Quebec city.

I still think a 3.5 hour shuttle would be to long . A bus would probably closer to 4.5 hours breaks.

There is a shuttle bus from Montreal airport to Quebec City from HAL (per my HAL PCC. The reason is that airline connections to Quebec are limited and in my case requires two transfers to reach.

You may also want to look at VIA Rail. There are downtown Montreal to downtown Quebec City trains.

There is a station at the airport (requires a shuttle bus to get to the terminal building). It is a stop on the VIA rail service from Ottawa and Toronto not certain if any of those trains continue to Quebec city or you have to transfer trains in downtown Montreal.

Thanks - I am considering that as well. I just feel safer letting the cruise line do the transfer in this case. If I decide to come in an extra day (2 vs 1) early and stay in Montreal overnight, I likely will do the VIA rail.
