Harry Peterson Posted May 18, 2018 #26 Share Posted May 18, 2018 Being a lover of aft suites this would rule out Britannia entirely for me - quite apart from all the other design problems, such as the missing staircases. Never any noticed a soot problem on Ventura or Azura in aft suites.
yorkshirephil Posted May 18, 2018 #27 Share Posted May 18, 2018 Some things are subjective, if you are a very good sleeper noise may not be a problem, the soot thing is a bit hit and miss depending on weather conditions and whether light or heavy oil is burned or the speed the ship is travelling. If you were blind you would not worry about an obstructed view. However I agree with the OP opinion that problematic cabins should be flagged, the cruise lines will know which they are by the number of complaints. AnOnymously Posted May 18, 2018 #28 Share Posted May 18, 2018 Anyone sufficiently into wanting to book PO that they would care to nurse a log of cabins, good, bad and ugly?
Rare Presto2 Posted May 18, 2018 #29 Share Posted May 18, 2018 Suggesting that holiday providers point out all the reasons why you should not stay in X% of their rooms/cabins is a bit similar to asking turkeys to vote for Xmas. A perfect way to compare the two --- made me laugh as well :-)
jay888 Posted May 19, 2018 #30 Share Posted May 19, 2018 But what I don’t get is the difference between a sooty cabin and an obstructed view cabin. Why tell customers about one but not the other? With an obstructed it is cheaper than an outside. Soot, I had a delux baconly on the Azura, top of the price range and could not use the balcony that much because of soot
