Gayle that's a very good price - I was told that a cruise with an inside certificate to upgrade to 2c balcony would be $600

- plus the port taxes - even though crown and anchor prices had only a small difference between the 2. I tried several times with different operators and got the same answer - no 150 per cent and they compute the upgrade price thru their own pricing mechanism - not crown and anchor. So I used a balcony certificate instead for the 1,000 discount and paid just $162 plus the taxes. It was for an 8 night Bahama cruise.

 

Mine was for a 5 night Bermuda for a 2E. It would have been a couple hundred more for a non-obstructive cabin. One call I was quoted over $700 more. When they gave me a total price of $350 including taxes/port charges, I grabbed it.

The combination of all these changes and their repricing that they do when using certificates have made certificates worthless, especially if you book cruises when itineraries are announced, and prices are lower - yet are unable to apply certificates until a year out, and then by repricing the cruise at the current higher price.

The way I understood it was that the 150% rate would still apply to $ off certificates but not to upgrading free cruise certificates. Yesterday when I called 3 times, I got 3 different prices to upgrade my inside certificate to a balcony. I finally booked when I though I got a fair price. 5 night to Bermuda upgrade to a Obstructive Balcony for $175 + tax and port charges. (at the time I booked, the price for an OV balcony was cheaper than an inside solo, with the sail that was going on, but I was told the casino has their own rates) On my previous calls, I was quoted up to $700 more to upgrade.

 

I have also found that most of the agents have no idea what the 150% is or how to get the right price.

 

 

When is your cruise? I'm on the Anthem 9-15-18.

I'm booked on the Oasis, and I called CR about upgrading from my inside to an Oceanview balcony. $162 more, plus the gentleman asked my if I was going to book one of my comped offers so I booked the Enchantment for port taxes. This will finally put me at Diamond status. I had no idea about any comped cruises.

If you have any unused certificates that are 30 days past the issue date, they cannot be used. CR changed their policy about a week or so ago and they will not honor the certificate value past the 30 day issue date. They are not sending out any information about the new policy either. Not sure who I can write to about this issue. It is no longer beneficial to spend time in the casino and earn any certificates unless you have a specific booking so it can be used within 30 days.

 

There is still no information being disseminated about the new program and the comp'd stateroom that comes with the new tier statuses. My concern is that once the new program is released throughout the fleet, how long do we have to book the comp'd stateroom. Unless we receive an email or information in a timely manner, I could lose that comp also.

You should have been upgraded for free since there is a 'free upgrade' promotion going on for most sailings. Not unless the Oasis is not included in the promotion. Congrats on Diamond status!!!

I booked a cruise using Casino Royale on Sunday. It was for Oct 26, 2019 so quite a bit more than a year out. They could not honor the certificates, and it was to far out to get casino rates. But they gave me a 5% discount and a very good "refundable" rate (only $64 more for 2). So I will be able to rebook with certificates if we have them and the price is still good.

Anyone here that is D+, try to use their 2 free days of Internet, then the 30% off the internet through the casino for the remaining days?

what we did :

I have fully comp internet from Casino and we applied mine 2 days as D+ and my hubby D+ 2 days on his phone (4 days :) he using D+ perk)

It will suck if they now expire after the 30 days, was going to call with an additional cruise next month but the certs I was going to use will be expired for even the money value. I have booked all the ones I can from their lists and still have a lot left over between my DW and I. Not even sure the value of them would allow me to book something but will have to check when I get home. But then again I will earn more so hopefully new dates will be one them.

 

And yes on the Harmony they do have your status level next to your crown and anchor level.

 

The New machines really light up the Casinos and they have some different ones.

Yep, they are enforcing both the 30 day window and the 1 year to sail

 

I was however able to apply the recently expired cert to a cruise booked onboard during the 30 day window.

 

The TA had to request it. So all is good

Well the new program is now nearly two months old and we still have not heard about how and when we can book our free cruise for an inside cabin. They have not informed us when this time period will expire or anything else. This is monopoly and they are the banker.

I blame it on their IT. They introduced an upgraded C&A website and fouled that up as well. They lost past cruises, did get my points right but then said I am pre-gold with zero cruises when we’ve been D plus for several years. Somehow my booked future Casino Royale cruises are still showing correctly. I wouldn’t be surprised if it takes them the better part of this year to get everything properly completed.

Check your preferences on your account when you log onto royal's website. Click on account, then settings, then preferences and make sure there is a check next to "via email" for special offers and communications. If that looks ok, call CR and ask them to check if they have the correct email and mailing address for you.

Same happened to us, but the next time I returned to our site, it did finally update to D+ and the correct amount of days.

Did have to put in our email address now, & change the password to log on.

The Diamond+ gifts option isnt showing yet, but they told me that you can call & change gift over the phone.

Should have left the website as it was.

I just booked this week by calling my international host. He works directly with RCI and can do better than RCI or the certificate allows.

We've never recieved any emails or offers without phoning in either. We was told it was because we were international guests, if you are American then phone C&A and Casino line to check your email and details are correct.

Enchantment is now printing the CR Level next to the C&A Tier Level. Other than that all we are getting now for the new program is the onboard benefits. Yesterday on the phone with CR- still they have no idea about emails going out or the annual comp cruise.

My parents just got off an RCL Cruise last week and received two free cruises (one balcony, one inside) plus $400 off certificate. They left it at the room on the last day. They also delivered champagne, two fruit trays, and chocolate covered strawberries midway through the cruise. This is only their second cruise with RCL. I didn’t realize they did stuff for you during the cruise.

I spoke to CR about a month ago and they said information regarding our "free cruise", as well as tier, would be emailed out in the next 2-3 weeks, which would have been by the end of May/18, well, June 3/18, and still no emails. You would think all of the glitches would have been worked out by now.
