What does this mean - realistically? I'm working on a private tour and looking at the time I want to be back at the ship, don't want to find we get back with what we think is time to spare only to discover the ship's gone.

Tianjin port is not right next to the city of Tianjin - the city is easily 45-minutes to an hour away. City traffic can be quite congested - the population of the city is about 10-million. Most cruisers usually take the train from Tianjin City to Beijing which is about an hour away.

If you are going on a tour, it is best to arrange a pick-up at the port and chance it on the roadway to Beijing. If the cruise is overnight, stay overnight in Beijing.

Your guide should be able make the adjustments to getting you back to the ship on time. Again, make certain that the guide will be able to get you right to the pier where your ship is docked,

We're overnighting Beijing. Is the departure time next afternoon likely to change from what it was due to be when we left the ship the previous morning?

There are probably many others that are in the same boat as you and need to get back. Baring an unforeseen event, the ship will depart on schedule.

IMO tour guides will want to get you back in time for lunch on board.
