Taxi in St. John

We've booked the "St John, Bay of Fundy Top 10" excursion on our Sept 7, 2018 cruise on Adventure of the Seas. We would really prefer a private tour, but it seems that all the guides I've researched have a set fee for a van of 6 or more people. Are there taxis at the port who can be hired for the day? If so, has anyone had experience with doing this? Thanks for your help.

I am in the same predicament; we are sailing via Princess Cruises, and are in the port of St. John, on Oct. 10, 2018. Many of the private, New England tours, require 6 or more people, with a set fee. Today, I found Dave's Taxi (http://www.davestaxitours.com/Excursions.html), however, I have not inquired about their rates/services, for private tours.

Hope this helps,

What did you go see and what was the cost?

We....a group of six...organized by our rollcall went on the St Martins/Fundy 5+ hour tour....we saw so much which included the drive out to the caves,...stopped to pickup a few "magic rocks" and even stopped at an old farmhouse for homemade cookies. Our tour was $60.00 per person... I would book with Dave's Taxi Tours for sure again.

The maximum by-law rate is $50/hr (not per person) for a prearranged taxi rental. No taxi is allowed to charge more, also no private person can drive people in a car for hire without a taxi licence in the City of Saint John.
