Taking your passport ashore?

There is no one answer for every person, every circumstance, and every destination.

YOU have to decide what your level of comfort is.

I travel a lot internationally, and most times, I carry my passport on my person, or close by. But not always.

Caribbean and Western Europe, maybe not. Most other places, YES.

And again for those with electronic copies, realize you will need to print those out for presentation to the Consular Officer. They will need copies for their records.

I'm pretty sure that they have printers at the Consulate;).
