Renting a Car in San Diego

Where would be the closest place to the pier to rent a car. Enterprise has an office at 32nd Street Naval Base (I am retired Navy) and I'm wondering if that would be the closest? Thanks!

The airport is very close- a $10 or so taxi ride. That will give you a very wide selection of car prices and types. I would say the airport is noticeably closer, and more choices.

Enterprise has a small lot on Pacific Coast Highway, close to the cruise terminal and they will also pick you up. Phone 619-294-7774.

For others reference, there is an Avis four blocks from the cruise ship terminal in Little Italy and the San Diego Airport Rental Center is about three mile away.
