Hotel suggestions around LAX

 Share

Recommended Posts

Hello all! I am looking for suggestions for hotels around LAX, that are preferably within walking distance of things to see/do in that area. This will be for early June.

Not much choice close to LAX. You'd have to go about 10 to 15 miles to get what you want.

There is nothing to see/do in walking distance of the airport.

Is this before your cruise or after it??

IF before I agree that you could stay closer to the port.

IF this is after then you need a hotel away from the airport but not too far.

Manhattan Beach is one possibility within about 15min of the airport.

The only thing of interest around LAX is the In n Out and that’s a very long walk. Hotels there are good for when you have the first flight of the day.

If arriving late the night before your cruise, stay at a hotel near port. Long Beach for Carnival, San Pedro for all other lines.

Santa Monica is another choice for a few days.

ETA—- lots of good answers on your other thread. Quite possible one or both of these were moved here.

The only time I can see staying by LAX is if you have an early flight the next day (and don't want to get up extra early in order to stay in a decent area).

Even if you get into LA late at night, get a taxi to take you to a hotel in San Pedro or Long Beach...the traffic will be light and you should be able to get to your hotel in a short time. Then you can sleep in a bit on the morning of your cruise, catch the hotel's shuttle to the port (if there is one) or grab a taxi to the Port of LA or LB depending on where your ship is.

You definitely wouldn't want to walk around the airport area. Please trust us locals.
