My strategy for laundry last summer on Insignia was to be among the first in the door as soon as it opened. Unfortunately, I did end up running one load with no soap because I didn't follow the instructions correctly - there was one set on the wall (the correct set) and the other on the machine - which is for if you bring your own soap.
