Hi. We are cruising from Galveston this week, and will arrive there on Wednesday. We usually go to Rainforest, but this time we want a fresh seafood restaurant that is not too expensive. THE SPOT had good reviews, but it's a counter service place. We want a place with full wait staff. And wheelchair accessible dining room and parking.

You need to go to Casey's. Food is fantastic. Inside or outside dining. I hope we will get there early enough on Sunday to eat there!! Go on line to see menu and pricing. If it is a little high....we also like Bennos. More casual....you do order at the counter but they bring it to you. It is also very good....but Casey's is our favorite!

It's no longer Casey's; now named Nick's, after Nick Gaido.

Also Gaido's - main restaurant

On Seawall Blvd between 37th and 39th Sts.

Other good fresh seafood restaurants are:

Olympia at Pier 21 - Greek

Saltwater Grill - Post Office between 20th & 21st

Rudy & Paco's Post Office & 21st (Pricey but #1 here).

Shrimp & Stuff - Ave O and 39th

These all get their seafood from fish markets at Pier 19

Gaidos! We had our wedding reception there and the food is really good!

Yes Gaidos is a legendary institution

of Galveston!

The Pelican Club in the back is a great place for special occasions.

I'm sure your reception was a wonderful one. :)

I know I am bumping an old thread, but I thought it was better than starting a new one since all of these places still exist.

I want to get fresh off the boat seafood. So I was wondering what kinds of fish would actually be locally caught? A lot of these restaurants have farm raise salmon on their menus, I can get that in Oklahoma with equal non-freshness.

I assume the shrimp would most likely be local, but wasn't sure what else. You'd think people would play up the local caught on the menu.

Snapper and redfish, for starters.
