i laughed when i got to the part about spending $35,000 on a family vacation in disney world.

but i guess where else would you be able to use the gift cards - a disney property of some kind i assume...

how did he think they wouldn't be able to figure out what he'd done.

at some point the accounts have to balance.

it's not rocket science to figure out where the problem in the accounts is...

now he'll get to vacation in the US prison system....not at all a mickey mouse kind of place..

I'd love the details on this $35,000 extravaganza trip to Disney World!

I found this on another site:

He returned some of the money to Disney, in a sense, when he spent $35,000 on a trip to Disney World, using gift cards loaded with the embezzled money, according to the complaint. It says he spent $8,700 on hotel rooms and more than $26,000 on food and drinks, merchandise and entertainment.

$26,000 on food/drink/merchandise and entertainment????????

wow....that's impressive..

how long were they at WDW...

and which hotel did they stay in..

i was trying to figure out how they paid with all those gift cards without anyone getting suspicious...

but i guess maybe they could pay online using the code on the card?

We took a party of 10 to WDW for a few days, stayed at Beach Club, used a Disney Guide for a couple of days and came pretty close to that amount.

If we had booked concierge we would have blown that total out of the water.

Even knowing the way he did it, I am shocked it took that long to notice the credit imbalance.

With park tickets at over $100 per day, the cost of upscale meals, and shopping....and no worries about money, I could probably spend that in 10 days. No, I'm not in that price range on my WDW vacations, but we've learned how to economize. This individual obviously didn't have that in mind!
