Just back from the Wind

The 10 day cruise on the Wind from Barcelona to Monte Carlo, was brilliant. The food was exceptionally good, particularly in La Terrazza and the personal service was up to the usual Silversea standards. The CD, Colin Brown, made Trivia huge fun and the entertainment that was provided by the group of talented young singers, was very enjoyable. However, the highlight was a visiting orchestra who came aboard to perform, whilst overnighting in Livorno.

The weather was very kind to us, so we were able to enjoy the itinerary around the Balearics and the Italian islands.

Our trip to Lucca from Livorno was memorable - what beautiful place.

The internet package is acceptable as long as you make sure that you have logged off successfully.

Thank you Silversea for a great cruise.

Whatnot

Each guest had one hour free internet per day. I cannot recall the price of the other options, except that the premium rate per day was $39. Access to the internet via the computers in the internet room, was free and unlimited.

I am sure that you will love the Wind.

We have friends who were also on board and their trip report echoes your thoughts.

Believe the key to the spectacular cruise experience one enjoys now on the Wind is partly due to the exceptional crew management skills led by new Hotel Director Daniel Ilias (since November 2017)

We have enjoyed the wonderful Wind Silversea life during Daniel's second cruise (last year's November crossing) and then experienced his personal touches this July when we enjoyed the Wind sailing in the stunning fjords of Norway.

Daniel as an active HD is ever-present in almost every Wind public space ensuring Silversea details are well attended too. He attended our two Wind cruise critic meet & mingles (yep two) during last year's Wind fall crossing. We were fortunate to have dinner with Daniel and learned he had spent ten years as a HD for Celebrity before spending many years with a small luxury hotel group in Canada (where he hails from) before being recruited/hired by Silversea.

Small example of Daniel's exceptional attention to detail. Ida and I both enjoy using the men's and women spa/sauna/stearm room on the Wind. After last years fall Wind refurb, the men's and women's shower/bathroom had no bench to sit down. We mentioned this to Daniel last November, and on board the Wind this July, Lester Goodwin who was acting Wind HD (Daniel left our Norway voyage the day we boarded to spend time with his son in Canada) let us know the spa bathrooms now have hand made teek benches. We used them frequently during our near three weeks on board the Wind in Norway this July.

We only wish the Wind's 2018/2019 fall/new year itineraries offered more variety than the Caribbean.

So glad to read that the Wind is in tip top shape. As the last part of my father's year long 90th birthday celebration we will be boarding her on the March 30th, San Juan to Ft. Lauderdale trip. :)

We, too are on the March 30 sailing. Looking forward to it! I️ started a Roll Call thread. Please feel free to join it :)

We are sitting in the BA lounge at LHR for our flight to Barcelona where we join the Wind on Friday. Reassured by the above reports.

Along with the news Silver Wind arrived safely to berth outside your hotel at 07.21 this morning. :-)

It is at its berth now but, sadly, not adjacent to the hotel. It's about a mile away so at least one Catalonian taxi driver will get an extra fare tomorrow.
