Traffic during Mardi Gras Parades/Festivities Galveston

For those of you who have cruised out of Galveston during Mardi Gras, how was traffic on the island and to the port? I didn’t realize that would be going on when I booked. We were going to stay in Texas City or somewhere similar to save a few dollars but I decided to book a hotel on the island instead when I found out just in case traffic was a nightmare (and surprisingly still found a cheap motel rate) Leaving out on Sat Feb 10th, so just trying to see what to expect.

We cruised out the same day as you in 2017 and had no issues. We stayed in Texas City the night prior. No traffic to fight.

I cruised like Feb 18th. There was a parade finishing up when I parked. Stayed out by NASA and had no problem driving in or getting to the EZ Parking lot. There were some roads closed between the lot and the port.

You should have no problems at all.
