Alaska Cruise/Tour budgeting

trying to do a rough idea budget of what extra $$ will be needed for our Alaska cruise/Tour. Specifically, White Pass rail and Yukon. I know a lunch is incl but I am wondering what is available to purchase on the train and pricing. Also, I'm sure I was told this but I'm old and I forget....how long is the train ride to the yukon?thanks.

There is nothing extra that you have to pay for that I recall. I believe they did offer some DVDs and possibly other items on board, but we weren’t interested. Maybe others will know the prices.

If you are going to Bennett Lake, it is around 8 hours total. If you are just doing the Summit Round-trip is 3-3.5 hours.

Are you talking about the train in Skagway? It’s up and back. There’s nothing on the train but water and souvenirs.

If you’re talking about your cruise tour with the train to Talkeetna, then it’s around 10 hours, and there is a dining car.
