Our friends are on a keto diet so no carbs, the pizza base was a special one they made themselves.

Thrilling game for the Swans, winning eventually by 7 points after a great running goal by Ollie Florent in the dying seconds. Bulldogs did a great job fighting back after their poor start to the season, but the Swans did just enough to get over the line.

Most other matches were blowouts though.

Brisbane equalled their lowest ever score by their club (I believe), scoring only 17 points against Richmond. 17 points is a disappointing score for a quarter, let alone an entire game!

Carlton were smashed by North Melbourne 116 to 30, another terribly low score. Melbourne had a great first quarter scoring 5.5 to Hawthorn's 3.5 at quarter time. But then were outscored 15 goals to 1 after that.

Adelaide and Port were belted in upsets as well, so it's going to be a pretty even season. Unless you're a Carlton fan or a Brisbane fan, in which case it's going to be a really long season.

Swans at home to the crows in just over 1/2 an hour. It may well be a real bird fight.

Quarter time has Crows ahead 33 (4.9) vs 21 (3.3).

Half time Crows 58 (8.10) to 42 (6.6).

3rd Quarter time it is still the Crows 66 (9.12) to 57 (8.9), the gap is closing.

Crows closed it out with a 10 point win, 85 (12.13) to 75 (10.15).

Mrs Gut’s family were the go to when a kid from the bush needed a feed. Her grandad was a lifelong Eels fan and member, she talks fornly of the fit young kids coming for dinner on a Mondaybod Wednesday night, especially the one with long blond hair from Wagga.

As a Crows supporter, I'm with you on the Jeckyll and Hyde year, thinking it is going to be a proper roller coaster ride!

Okay, after 5 rounds, the swans are in just outside the 8 on 12 points, there are 8 other teams also on 12 points (3rd to 10th). There are a couple of teams yet to play their 5 game though so this may change.

Round 5 is finished and the Swans are now tenth but as mentioned there are 9 teams on 12 points (4th-12th) so realistically, they are one win from being in the top 8.

Swans are playing the Geelong Cats in Geelong. First quarter and they are up 30 (4.6) points to 15 (2.3), a good start. :D

Cats by 43 (6.7) to 31(4.7) at half time. Big 2nd quarter by the Cats winning it 4.4 to 0.1.

Cats by 62 (9.8) to 40 (5.10) at 3 quarter time. lead of 22 points.

I am glad my jinx worked, the Swans won by 17 points, 86 (12.14) to 69 (10.9). A huge quarter by the swans kicking 46 points (7.4) to 7 (1.1).
