"LIVE" - Ovation of the Seas (April 9-26, 2018), Bill & Marie's slow boat to China

Well that was a new one for me. In Windjammer the gentleman (actually that does not apply) at the next table was flossing, then just left the floss on the table.

Bill, did you get to ride the Star Ferry? It cost 5 cents back in the 80's. Hopefully it is still a bargain!

Thank you for the photos of the Peninsula Hotel. I love that hotel (but never stayed there) and used to have breakfast there on layovers -- the orange crepe pancakes were delightful! Good times.

Loved the photos of the two different temples. Your photos capture the color and ambiance of Hong Kong very well.

Finally managed to catch up on all the posts. It's been absolutely wonderful reading about your days and seeing all the beautiful photos (I always forgot to take photos on my travels).

Enjoy the rest of your holiday!

Going to start posting the evening tour, yes we took the Star Ferry and I think it was the same one I took over 30 years ago.

It's late but I am going to pay now as I will be lazy tomorrow. We just spent another 4 hours with Apple that may have been the best tour yet.

We left the terminal and took the free shuttle to the train station.

Dinner was a truly fun experience. I will try to figure out how to post the video but I swear everyone was talking at the same time so it was the loudest restuarant I have ever been to.

Here we are trying chicken's feet for lunch. Not one of Marie's favorites.

Ok so it is tradition here that the youngest at the table is responsible for certain things, ensuring the dishes are clean before eating, serving the tea or other drinks. Since Apple was the youngest she was responsible for ensuring our glasses were full but more important that the dishes/silverware were clean before eating.

So when they put the dishes/silverware on the table they also left a pitcher of hot tea that Apple used to wash everything before we ate.

Here is a video,

We had a view of the nightly light show from the best seat in the house, right in Victoria Harbor on the Star Ferry. Here is a link to the video
