Equinox Sky Suite - Micheal's Club

Hi all,

Very excited to be sailing on the Equinox in June. This will be my first cruise in the suite class (at the time of booking, the perks that came with the cabin made a better value than booking my usual aquaclass) and I have a question. I know that the sky suite does come with access to Luminea, but I was just looking over the Equinox deck plans and the description of Micheal's Club said it was for guests in all suite categories except the sky suite... So, will we have access to the club?

Any advice appreciated!

Thanks!!

Yes, Sky Suites have full access to the Michael’s Club. It was a change made several years ago. The four perks included with most suite bookings make it a little more affordable.

Enjoy.

Yes, you will have access to Michaels Club. Originally Sky Suites were excluded but that was changed a number of years ago. There is also lunch on embarkation day in Luminae, but it is closed for lunch on port days. Open for breakfast & dinner every day.

Enjoy your cruise in a sky suite. It is a nice change and also very enjoyable with the extra room. Luminae and MC are also very nice too. We are looking forward to our upcoming sky suite in Europe 4/27...

Michaels club is nice for the whole cruise but when you board, you can leave your luggage and go Luminae for lunch since your cabins will not be ready until around 1. They will give you assistance at the end of the cruise. Lots of little things they will do besides just sitting around and having a drink which can be very relaxing.

You will love the suite life! Last month we did first time in a Suite (Sky Suite) Will never go back to Aqua again (loved that too). Michaels Club was great! When we were in Aqua we would always go to Martini Bar before dinner. On a 10 day cruise never went there once!! MC every night! Plus you meet ppl that are dining in Luminae. And a butler too? God, I think I have become an elitist lol. Booked next cruise on board during cruise Sky Suite Edge...that is over the top for us!! When we were going to book our next cruise, that place was busy. Mentioned this in MC and they had MGR of future cruises come down to MC with a lap top to book us. Embarkation and debarkation are also smooth through MC

ENJOY

We were recently in a SS on the Eclipse for a 14 day cruise. I must have really missed something as we usually sail in AQ and was really looking forward to the suite life.

Michael’s club for the most part was dead. They had a attendant there in the early hours and didn’t have a clue about making a drink.

In the afternoon it was a bar server that was just as bad.

In the evening there was a real BT but was not very accommodating. I always heard if you want it they will get it. Wasn’t true on our cruise. I asked for a bourbon that was on the Premium list and was told that we don’t have it here. End of story. My wife asked for a wine that was on the classic and was told the same. Never said that we will get it for you. Since the premium drink pack was included we always went to the regular bars. We didnt feel comfortable in there since they acted as if we were imposing on them and we weren’t welcome. We rarely seen more than 4 passengers in the lounge at any time other than when waiting for the host. I think that is their MO, don’t make the passengers feel welcome and we won’t have to work.

None of them knew how to make a Old Fashion, or Mint Julep, I had to tell them how and was then told that we don’t have any oranges or mint.

During the Officers Party I seen the Bar Manager and told him my expearience about the lack of ability of the staff and that is when I found out that they had a attendant, server and then a BT for staff utilization.

Most of the other services that were available weren’t that convenient because you had to wait for others that were also making arrangements. We found it easier and faster to stand in line at the corresponding desks. There are around 60 total suites on board so you have to wait your turn for others also making arrangements

Luminae was very nice and a step above Blu. It is a more relaxed quiet dining experience. It is like dining in a nice restaurant where people don’t carry on conversations with the adjacent tables. They are also further apart. There may be a little small talk but it didnt continue on after the food was served. Some may not like the slow pace but is isn’t a fast food restaurant.

The cabins are spacious but to me it is idiotic to have a bathtub with a shower in it on a moving ship. The floor is sloped and slippery. I have great balance and can’t imagine how others cope with it.

Embarkation was a joke. No one directed us or told us that Michael’s Club was available for suite guests or told us where it was. I only knew about it because of my cruising experience. We walked in and no one questioned us. We had a drink and the snacks and was never questioned.

The disembarking was another joke. We left our cabin around 7:30 and went to Michael’s Club to be escorted off. We walked past the check out line to get there. There were a few in line and passengers were leaving. We got to Michael’s Club and waited 15 minutes for the host to escort us off. Really! I thought it was going to be thru a special line. Wrong. She took us to the checkout area that we walked past 15 minutes earlier. 15 minutes wasted.

Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

I had the same sort of experience on the Eclipse last year. We were in a RS, and found Michaels quite dark, and the staff unhelpful. I am currently in a SS on Connie coming to the end of an absolutely fantastic cruise. Here not only is Michaels bigger and much lighter, the staff and the concierge cannot do enough for you. Our butler is magnificent, I could go on. Last night we even had a “silent disco” in Michaels, and even though I really enjoy them anyway, it was lovely, having our own little party.

I have been in a suite several times and fully enjoyed it.I never had any problems in Michaels club and it was always looked after properly.Perhaps if you wished to talk to the person at the desk, some people seemed to be at her desk constantly but having a drink and letting them know you wished to talked them they would come over and enjoying a drink while waiting was not so bad.

Lumanae had good and bad points

1/The last cruise we took was very crowded in the restaurant and had to have patience to get seated but the people serving were great so again patience came into play

2/The food was very good but sometimes a bit boring

3/After several cruises in the restaurant ,I wished that they would change the menus and sometimes there were several dishes to chose from and other times I found it difficult to find any item I was interested in

I have only had one suite experience and am looking forward to my 2nd this June. I found the staff at Michael's to be excellent, as well as Luminae. It makes it really tough to go back. An example: I asked if they had a special wine that is not readily available, nor was it listed in any of the packages. The following night, a bottle was there, waiting for me! This was on the Summit and, across the board, the staff was wonderful. Enjoy your cruise!

The change giving all suites access to Michael’s Club was made several years ago. The plan is to update that information on the website on the tenth anniversary of the change😂

Certainly no reason to rush. And why would they want to announce the change before the tenth anniversary? :halo:

Just got off the Equinox last Sunday. We were in a Sky Suite and had access to Michael's Club. Our butler (Allano) was the best one ever. Our room was beautiful.

My main concern is that on future cruises, the Sky Suites are so much more expensive than Aqua. To the point of not being worth the extra money (for us, at least). But we've loved every Sky Suite we've had.

Just one more note about debarkation. Went to MC sat around and had a coffee. Finally went to Concierge and said we would like to get off but there was a line of at least 500 ppl outside MC. No prob she said. Opened up a back secret door of MC and with a sign in her hand escorted us to the top of the escalator. When we got down to main terminal I was told to get a porter. He went and got our luggage put all including carry ons on the cart then escorted us through customs (Nexus helped). Then once outside there must have been 200-300 people waiting for taxi. Not us!! Porter wheeled our luggage thru to a waiting taxi. Best $10 tip I have ever spent. From MC to taxi was less than 15 mins. This was so easy.

We did our first and only Celebrity cruise, so far, this past January and had a Sky Suite on Summit. Michael's Club was definitely a great part of the suite experience. I will say, as an introvert who likes quiet and space, the fact that it was generally pretty quiet was a nice bonus for me. It was a nice place where I knew I could retreat for a peaceful few minutes to enjoy a drink. In fact, I will say on this particular cruise the best mojito I had was from Michael's Club vs the other bars.

We got a wicked good deal on that Summit cruise, so so far we are booked in an Aqua for a January Equinox, but watching the prices and will definitely pounce on a sky suite again if they go down.
