What are your Favorite Things to Do on Sea Days

We will be on Reflection for 14 nights this Dec. We have 4 sea days. What are your favorite things to do all day? Appreciate ideas.

Coffee breaks, trivia, listen to my music out in the deck but in general just relaxing as I am on vacation.

Depends on what's happening on the ship but we will spend most of the day on the balcony. Room service for both breakfast and lunch or maybe go get a burger. Sure we'll go to a talk maybe and will always go to the gym but otherwise it's the balcony until dinner . Maybe even a movie.

We stay as far away from the pool as possible. That's just a sweaty mass of humanity .lol

taylortime05 - I have done 3 transatlantic cruises where there are 6 or 7 sea days in a row. It is absolutely my favorite part of the cruise.... to do nothing at all if I so chose to. I enjoy being disconnected from the world, from the internet, etc. Each day feels like a leisurely break from life itself. Here is a sample day for me:

- Sleep in

- Stop by Cafe al Bacio

- Sit out on deck 5, enjoy said coffee beverage and take in the breeze as the cruise ship cuts through the water

- Saunter up to the Oceanview for a late morning breakfast and sit out by the Sunset bar

- Reread the daily to see what is on tap for daily activities and nightly entertainment

- Wander the ship

- Get some sun / hang at the pool or other deck / read a book

- Get a few cocktails and continue to enjoy the sun and breeze

- Wander through the Ocean view for a late lunch / snack

- Come back to the room, enjoy the balcony, listen to some music or watch a movie (take a nap)

- Go to the gym

- Swing through the Oceanview to get some bread / cheese / meats / crackers, a glass of wine and return to room to get ready for the evening

- Stop by the Martini Bar for some adult beverages and people watching

- Go to a late dinner around 8:30 PM in the MDR

- Another walk on the top deck after dinner, possibly stopping at the Sunset Bar

Some nights I'll plan to go to the early show if it appeals... or a movie following dinner if I have the energy and attention span. Depending on available activities on a given day, some of those activities mentioned above are switch out for something else.

No day is boring and no day feels repeated.

I’m in the sun all day. We don’t go by the pool, but the deck above the pool. My husband usually lays in the shade and reads a book and I’m across from him I’m the sun reading. If I feel the need to get out of the sun I will lay in a chair next to him.....only if available. No, he does not save a chair in the shade for me!

We've done a cooking class in Murano on the Solstice, and the tour of the ship that includes lunch on the Reflection. Both were fun and interesting! On top of that...relax!

Here's a clue: They keep the do not disturb sign on the stateroom door all day;)

Many of the things noted above .... but we also like to: Stya in bed late and watch a movie on tv

Try out luck at the casino

Go to a lecture in the theater

Take advantage of a reduced cost lunch in one of the specialty restaurants

Get in some pool time, especially when there is live music

Book another cruise

Do laps on the walking deck

Sit on our balcony and order room service

A little shopping

Wine tasting

Visiting with old / new friends

Go to an auction (not to buy but to observe)

Hang out on the lawn club (participate in games)

Read a good book in a nice quiet spot

and the tour of the ship that includes lunch on the Reflection.

Can I please get a big more info on this. It’s not something I’ve read about, but it sounds interesting.

1) Daily deck walk - why we don't go to the gym, I don't know

2) Hang out in quiet shade spot to read and people watch

3) Trivia

4) Cards

5) Wine tasting

6) Persian Garden

7) "Naps"

I get a little antsy on the balcony, I don't like the closed in sides, I think, so we mostly use it while in port to see what is going on, plus at least one breakfast on the balcony.

Our next trip is a TA, so I'm looking forward to the lectures, I understand some are fairly engaging on those cruises.

We always try to do at least one "dressed up" breakfast or lunch - we had lunch in Murano last trip, that was fun and economical - but the OVC is one of the best things about Celebrity, wonderful variety, in some ways better than the dining rooms.

We are big wine people and have tried all the different pay wine events. The wines at the wine tasting are not the greatest, if you know wine you will not be super impressed. BUT, if it is early enough in the cruise,it is a good way to see and taste the variety of what is onboard, then you can ask for favorites later in the cruise. It is usually "Wines of the World". We've done the Blendtique as well, and it is actually a lot of fun, especially if you have 4 people, it is usually done in groups of 4. We were paired with a nice couple, fun to meet some other people, it is a little pricy.

I Really enjoyed the enrichment lectures on the Baltics cruise

DH really enjoys sleeping in

Also the Top Chef demo with audience participation

Coffee/Tea and cakes at Al Bacio in the afternoon

Can I please get a big more info on this. It’s not something I’ve read about, but it sounds interesting.

It was several years ago, and it was listed in the daily and on ship. There was a cost, but I can't recall how much. We had a guided tour that included the bridge, engine/mechanical room, large area at the bow where the anchors are pulled up, the main crew level, food storage, main galleys, and included lunch at the Tuscan Grille. We were able to see many areas on the crew level including their food service area and crew bar. They spent considerable time with us on the bridge, explaining equipment and navigation from the bridge officer on duty. Had time for pictures with officers also. Overall very worth the price!

We enjoy having the MDR open for lunch on Sea Days! :)
