Of course, we leave June 9 with our brand new luggage and the rules start on June 4. I'm at work and can't recall our sizes so I'll check when we get home. REALLY hoping we are ok.

Even if you are oversized, Alaska is very good about offering to let you check at the gate, waive the $25 baggage charge, plus give you priority boarding for gate checking your carry on luggage.

Thanks. We are planning on keeping things we really need in there such as meds and camera. Maybe it's fine.

I really wish US carriers would strictly enforce their own carryon rules! Would make boarding and de boarding a must simpler and pleasant experience. I’d vote for double baggage charges for those that show up at the gate with oversized and/or excess number carry ons! Triple charges for those showing up with carryons weighting over 25 lbs and needing help getting it into the overhead compartments!
