What was your upgrade offer and what did you bid

Hi!

Just got back from the Western Caribbean jaunt on the Getaway. First cruise ever with NCL but 72 nights with RCCL. Great Time and Great experience in the Haven. Yes, we won the bid ...900 pp plus the travel insurance piece. It was awesome.

Booked a balcony on the Sun for July. Just was wondering if all ships have the bidding process or just some of them? We're not quite 80 days but we are close.

Thanks for looking. This is a great thread!

We are 45 days out from our Bermuda sailing out of NYC on the Escape and I have a few questions...or perhaps would like some opinions. This is my first time bidding for Haven upgrades and I'm really crossing my fingers on this but I don't know how June sailings to Bermuda will fare with upgrades. Having said that, there are 17 Haven suites left on the website as of today...and while I know that's not entirely accurate due to mock bookings etc, I'm wondering what you all think are the chances of the possibility of an upgrade. We've bid in the mid "good" range and while we're good if we don't get it (we'll take another cruise with the money if we don't), we'd sure like to have this experience. What are your experiences with numbers like that? My apologies if I'm repeating what others have asked.

Thanks in advance!!

We won in the fair range...however a week out from sailing there were 27 left. I do think you have a great chance!

Hello. I'm new to NCL. Where do you go to bid for upgrades? We are booked on Breakaway in Feb 2019

80 Days from sail date you should receive from NCL an opportunity to bid for upgrades. However it's my understand that some people don't receive an opportunity because some TA's don't participate in the upgrade program.

You can also go to your account on NCL and it will offer you to bid (if you don't receive an email).

I bid on an H9 upgrade....we are in the poor category but not the bottom of the barrel. Sailing is 31 days away. Room count just dropped significantly....does that mean they are starting the upgrade inventory pulls?

Hard to say. They could just be assigning the guarantee cabins. It seems most bids are not accepted/declined until the very end although I have read a few that have been accepted a month out.

50 days out and received an email today: "Congratulations! Your offer to upgrade your stateroom on your upcoming cruise has been successful." Last night after reading more of peoples offers, I lowered our offer by $100.00 each and today we got the emaiI from an inside room to a family balcony. Had received the offer to bid a couple of weeks ago the day after our cruise was booked and put the higher offer in leaving it until last night.

Wow, pretty good deal, got a free IA inside cabin from CAS through Ceasars Casino - port and taxes were $330 per person. Got upgraded through Norwegian upgrade program today to B6 - Large Balcony for $75 per person today. Total ~ $405 per person.

Did a mock booking on B6 Large Balcony - total came out to about $3,000.

Total savings ~ $2190 + $100 OBC

Has anyone heard about upgrade status for the Getaway on May 6? Anxiously waiting. (And loving reading all of these stories!)

Got mine Tuesday 4/17 for 4/22 cruise on GA, if that helps. From BC to H4 for $1,380PP, probably bid too much but really wanted it!

So how much did you actually save at that price? And how long after bidding did they accept?

That sounds like a good deal but depends upon your original rate for the Balcony.

The award was 5 days prior to cruise. We got our H5 upgrade 3 days to cruise. 3-5 days is typical for Haven rooms. If you bid on the first day 80 days), then 75 days prior to award.
