Visitor Center Closed At Gatun Locks??

I have been following a "live" trip report and it was said that the visitor center at the Gatun locks have closed. So, I would assume that the viewing platform is gone as well so visitors are no longer allowed there? I logged on to Trip Advisor and people are still reviewing the locks but not sure if they are on land or sea.

I realize the Agua Clara locks are an attraction in itself (we went there during construction) but the up close and personal experience that the Gatun locks allowed is unequal to the others (including Miraflores) in my opinion.

We have been talking about booking another Panama Canal cruise but if the Gatun viewing platforms are closed we would be less picky about a stop in Colon.

Thanks in advance!
