Dry Cleaning no longer available on the Odyssey

Some close friends of my TA are currently on Odyssey and claim that SB has stopped dry cleaning service onboard. Can anyone comment on the other ships?

Given your special relationship with powers that be in Seattle can you not verify this from the top?

Available as always on Sojourn right now. Perhaps a piece of equipment broke on Odyssey and it’s therefore temporary unavailable? I’ve had that before on a different line.

Absolutely appropriate response. I guess being a critic on CC now extends to criticizing other peoples' queries.

Makes sense to me.

Dry cleaning uses some pretty horrible chemicals which have the potential to cause various issues. Seabourn are moving to a water based cleaning process which can clean the vast majority of clothing items formerly deemed "dry clean only" but it is not dry clean in the traditional sense.

Not wanting to have loads of people complaining Seabourn are not calling the new process dry cleaning.

Seems pretty straight forward to me.

You might find that your local dry cleaning company eventually follows suit.

Actually they have changed on Sojourn as well at least on the holiday cruise. I didn't use it but there was a note to that effect either in the closet or the laundrette I can't recall which.

Agree with wickaz, on the Holiday cruise there was a notification in the suite the same as Dan received. I have a couple of silk blouses that I took away with me but decided not to risk having them cleaned by this new method. Will be interested to read any future feedback.
