Tablelamp Posted January 20, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 20, 2018 From 2018 P and O are restricting alcohol from being taken on board to one litre only. Can anyone tell me what would be the cheapest way to drink wine in my cabin. The drinks they provide in the cabin fridge are expensive. wowzz Posted January 20, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 20, 2018 Buy a bottle at a bar onboard, and take it back to your cabin. Sent from my XT1032 using Forums mobile app
ScotchBoy Posted January 20, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 20, 2018 Buy a bottle at a bar onboard, and take it back to your cabin. I concur. It's the quickest way too. If you order from Room Service, even though it's the same price as at the bars, they send a chap to ask you to sign a form, and then they go off to get the wine. This is a real nuisance, especially when you have ordered dinner with wine. The wine always comes after dinner has been eaten. This happened to us twice on different P&O cruises. Lesson learnt by us is to buy the wine at the bar and put it in the fridge for later.
snaefell Posted January 20, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 20, 2018 A real shame,I really thought that P&O were showing the way by not restricting alcohol but obviously not. We ordered the 'Irish Falling Over Water' from room service, never found it a problem, prices on board weren't bad to be fair so it doesn't break the bank, just seems a restriction on your freedom! Guest ccpm Posted January 20, 2018 #5 Share Posted January 20, 2018 This was not the case on Britannia in December. Ordered wine from Room Service and then it was brought with bill to sign.
