Pre booking specialty dining?

Typically this question is quickly followed by a resounding 'no' but I'll ask having never cruised with Azamara. Can a passenger [that has fully pre paid their entire cruise and who has also purchased one of the optional specialty dinning plans] make reservations in either of the two Specialty dining rooms on Journey prior to their cruise?

It is a "no" but booking on the day you board should not cause you too many issues in getting your reservations
