Cruise Supply and demand

Recommended Posts

It seems with nearly every day that goes by we hear of new expansion projects for existing ships or new ships announced.

Whilst I'm aware the amount of people cruising is expanding are we likely to see cruise lines struggling to fill rooms in the future ?

Law of supply and demand will take care of things. Cruising is getting popular but there are still those that will never like it.

If price stays reasonable, and people are employed and have the disposable income to purchase, then they will continue to grow.

For me, my concern is the larger and larger ships they are building. Some of these ports are just to small to support so many people getting off and flooding the streets. The wife and I were in Kotor, Montenegro once when three ships were in port...The city ground to a halt. Traffic was a mess, the old town was far far too small and there was little to do or see since the town was small. We took a bus to visit some Roman ruins but the bus ride back was miserable as we sat in traffic for hours.
