Suite verses FTTF

My 2 daughters and myself are travelling on Carnival Spirit this coming New Years Eve. We can't wait and want to get the most out of our experience. We have booked a Vista Suite at the back of the boat and I believe we get priority boarding and disembarkation. Not too worried what time we get off ship but would like to be on ship early. There has been a lot of confusion on what Suite passengers get on an Australia Cruise and I was wondering if it is worth purchasing the FTTF package as well?

No, you won't need FTTF if you have a suite. You'll be able to go straight through as soon as the ship is ready for boarding. When we cruised on Legend in a suite we turned up at the OPT about 11:30am and were onboard well before noon. Fastest embarkation ever! We couldn't go to our cabin until 1:30pm so went straight up the the Serenity area aft and grabbed a table, then got lunch from the buffet which was adjacent. We got there even before the bar had opened, but we didn't have long to wait.

You don't get much else in the way of perks - 2 bottles of water (large), and priority tendering. You're guaranteed to get your choice of dining - despite booking very late we ended up on a table overlooking the stern, unfortunately we had chosen late dining so couldn't see much out the big windows. Still, it was nice.

From my research, the only thing you get FTTF that you don't get in the suite is early access to the stateroom. On the other side, your FTTF luggage tags don't say priority (or FTTF) while suite tags are clearly marked 'priority'..

 

What is the point of early stateroom access if your luggage shows up late?

FTTF will be only handy at Tender ports & you get prioity to get off to the isla..nds

 

 

 

But is also available to suite dwellers.

 

In our group we have 3 suites and 1 inside cabin. We bought FTTF for the inside guests so we can all board and tender together!

What’s the price of a suite compared to a non suite?

 

 

 

That all depends on the cabin class and the deal available when you book. When we booked (around 14months ago) we got the deck 6 oceanview suites for about $1150pp quad share and the inside cabin across the corridor was about $1200pp twin share for a 9 night cruise. FTTF for the latter was $125

 

Not sure what effect our group booking of 4 cabins had!

We have been on a cruise with P&O before and when researching the suite was cheaper than a balcony on the dawn. I was very impressed with price:)

I am not sure booking 4 cabins would be enough to attract a group discount but Carnival may be different.

You should get a letter in your suite, which you take to Guest Services. They then escort you to a specially reserved lift down to the tender embarkation area. Very useful!

It must be exhausting having to remember all the different perks and services available on various levels of accommodation and loyalty program.

We just had a suite on the new Carnival Horizon for the Transatlantic. The perks lacked somewhat compared to what we get on RCCL but their suites are a lot cheaper so we didn't mind. We had no need for tendering but we did get on board very quickly and our luggage was delivered in what we considered record time.
