How to find fares and available cabins

Hallo,

I am very much interested in traveling with Windstar.

On their internet pages I can find "todays fares", I can select a trip and all cabins are shown with there fares.

How do I know if they are available?

Does the amount of additional taxes stated under the fare include all taxes, fees and port expenses?

I requested a quote, but all I got was an email from an unknown travel agent, and they didn't answer my question and directed me back to the Windstar Internet page!

Do I have to have an agent for booking with them? Is there no "live" system on fares and availability?

Thanks

"Today's fares" column appears in the list of cruises from the cruise finder. It is just the fare on the lowest cabin category. If you want to find out more, click on "view cruise". That will give you tabs for various details like itinerary. One of the tabs is offers and pricing. That page tells you how much each category is. Below the fare, it will say in smaller print "+ $<number> additional taxes.

You don't have to have a TA, but they don't have an on-line booking tool for customers. You can call Windstar to book or fill out a form to have them contact you.

Thank you.

I am from Europe, so I am hesitating calling a number in US. By the way is it an Us telephone number?

I filled out a form, this didn't work, like described.

Seems that I have to contact an agent in Europe.

But I find it difficult to decide which cruise to take without having an online system which tells me the fare and the availability.

I have always called Wind Star direct and been assisted by a Vacation Planning specialist. I can ask all the questions I want and they typically have all the answers (or will find them for me). They have been able to tell me any specials and what cabins are available for the cruises I am interested in. I now have a vacation planning specialist that is awesome and I can email or call him if I have any questions. If you do call from Europe, just remember the time differences before you place the call.

:)Dear SkiMom2, I️ would love to have the name and contact information for the vacation planning specialist you have used to book with WS. It sounds as if h/she is very knowledgeable... do you pay a fee for this service and if so is it costly? Thanks in advance!

I would suggest calling a TA.

I am in the US and that is a US number. I have sailed Windstar once and I found their website very hard to use. I depended on my travel agent.

This. WS is very geared toward US passengers, and I've talked to a number of people from other places who had a terrible time. A TA shouldn't charge you more since cruise lines still give commissions, and you'll have a local contact.

I would email WS. In the meantime contact a TA. I do believe that WS has an agent office in the UK and Germany. Try to get a TA that knows their product for example one that specialuzes in cruises. The prices should be the same. TA can, most of the time, get ship board credit. Good Luck it is wrth pursuing. Happy Sailing

Hello Anguilla-4ever!

The WS vacation planner I spoke to in regards to our back2back2back we just booked is Jesse Cratty. He was very knowledgeable and a bit of fun too! If you call the 800 number you can ask for him and they should be able to transfer to him. He does have a direct number although I've had to leave a message on that number one time. He also has a direct email address. Here is his contact information:

He tells me that any vacation specialist can help but it's nice to have a relationship with a good one if you ask me. Best of luck and keep us posted and tell him Tina from Minnesota recommended him!
