Can someone explain my Vegas rewards for OBC

Recommended Posts

My experience with MyVegas and Royal. I booked a balcony room on 11/6 using a TA. The cruise price included onboard credit from royal, onboard credit from TA, resident discount, and a spa credit. The next day I sent myvegas 250 onboard credit request under my name and they applied it within 24hrs no problems. A few days later I sent myvegas 250 credit for my wife. They first denied the request stating it was after final payment. I responded questioning why and they responded say they made a mistake and applied the onboard credit.

Bottom line, booked a Cruise through a TA with discounts and onboard credits. I then was able to get a total of 500 onboard credit using myvegas for both my wife and I. Cruise is February 9th-17th

I sent an email to clubroyale@rccl.com, this is listed on the MyVegas email you receive after purchasing your reward voucher.

I gave them the following information:

Name:

ship sailing on:

Departing date and port:

Crown & Anchor Member #:

Reservation Number:

Myvegas reward redemption code:

(note: I actually included a copy of the reward voucher email, not sure if it was needed or not)

At the risk of putting the cart before the horse... here's how things worked for me.

Friday morning (9am) and immediately sent to RCI with the specific data required (cruise date, ship, booking,etc..). As I figured if I didn't hear by EOD Friday, I wouldn't hear til at least Monday. Saturday, about 5pm, I received confirmation that my OBC was applied to my booking. I booked through our regular on-line TA and our booking already had our C&A balcony discount along with OBC from RCI. I have no idea if our booking is part of a group booking with our TA. Nothing in my booking confirmation states that. I don't see the new OBC anywhere in my RCI booking on their website nor on my current confirmation from my TA. I plan to reach out to her this week and ask if she can see it.

Otherwise, as far as I can tell, this worked. Thank you all so much.

Erika

Just wanted to update all. Spoke with my TA this week. She did check and did see the $250 OBC on Royals site and updated my confirmation with that. Thank you all for helping me get this perk.

When is your cruise, when did you book your cruise, did you use a travel agent, was it special deal, etc? Also when you called did they say why it didn't qualify?

I ran across this post today and got inspired by it. I cashed out for $100 OBC (the $250 OBC was gone for the day at the time). We booked our cruise months ago, but I had our TA revise our reservation a few days ago to take advantage of the Black Friday sales. I'm not sure if that changed/updated our purchase date, but I got an email back already confirming my OBC, and it's showing up on our reservation. We have two rooms, so I just cashed out a $250 OBC (which was available this evening) and asked for it to be applied to my husband's reservation (we have one room in my name with one son, and the other room in my husband's name with our other son). Crossing my fingers that will work too!!

We were able to apply a reward to a repriced cruise as well :)

I am just learning the My Vegas on FB. Can someone please answer some questions?

1. How do you earn more points? I am playing slots and Black Jack. How long does it take before you have $100,000 to turn in for rewards?

2. Are there tricks to speed this process up so I can use it within 14 days?

3. Do I get to play the different games (slots & blackjack) and combine the scores?

Thank you

There is the Facebook game and 4 Android/iPhone apps - myVEGAS, myKONAMI, popslots, myVEGAS blackjack. Download them all and connect them to your facebook.

2. Are there tricks to speed this process up so I can use it within 14 days?

Not really. It would take too long to accumulate enough points to buy anything.

3. Do I get to play the different games (slots & blackjack) and combine the scores?

Yes

Updated to add: just heard back from Royal and they credited the $250 on my husband's account too! At first they wrote back and said it wasn't within 30 days of booking. I wrote back asked them to re-check their records because my TA had just re-booked our cruise last week. A day later, I got an email back saying I was right and confirming the OBC! When the $250 OBC is available again (currently sold out), I'm going to get another one and see if they'll apply to it my son too!

Based on previous comments I don't think they will allow you to use the myvegas with the Casino credit, but that is just a guess.

We are planning to book a 2019 cruise soon. Do you think I could use my points for the $250 OBC, and my husband could use his for the 5% off, and that we’d still get the current sales and OBCs being offered by the green Monday sale?

From what I have heard yes. As long as it’s not a free cruise you are able to redeem and apply each of your rewards. But there could be limitations ...don’t know till you try.

Out of curiosity, how was your cruise booked? US RCI website, via a TA, etc?

I ask because we are booked on Explorer next year, and tried to get the OBC. They refused on the basis that our cruise was booked through the Australian RCI website, saying that the US office can't access bookings made on the Australian site (and of course the Aus office doesn't want to know because MyVegas is a "US thing"). Funny thing is when we paid the deposit (via the Aus website) it was charged from Miami and we got stung with the applicable foreign transaction fee. So it all seems a little contradictory...

We booked online via the US Royal Carr. Site but in CAD fund currency.

We actually just switched to another cruise due to circumstances and was able to move both $250 OBCs with us to our new reservation. I thought for sure there would be some

stipulation that would say we cannot but it was done without issue.

Hi,

I have a couple of questions regarding the MyVegas program. ... Well, now the 250.00 OBC is sold out. How long does it take for more to be placed online?

I just checked on the PopSlots app and it shows "3 left today." They refresh the rewards all the time, so just keep checking.

Help!

I booked a cruise online yesterday and was going to redeem loyalty points for $250 OBC today. But the 100,000 loyalty points for $250 OBC is not listed under the rewards. It's not that it is showing as sold out - it's not there at all!

All 4 mobile apps are only listing $50 OBC, $100 OBC and 5% discount. Is this what they list when others are sold out? Or did they do away with the $250 OBC for Royal Caribbean?

Does anyone know or have an idea how I might find out?

Thank you.

~ Judy

That is really odd. there were four left this morning and I took one of them. I just checked and the $250 OBC is not listed for me anymore either. Usually they just say sold out. I looked at the Carnival rewards and there are several that say sold out. Maybe on RCI they just remove them because there are no rewards that are sold out. Keep checking back and hopefully they will replenish them soon, you have 30 days from booking. I went to get a NCL reward a few months ago and the whole category was gone. So I missed that window.

Thanks dacsmom. I'm glad to hear there were four left this morning. So hopefully they were dropped from the list because they are just temporarily sold out. I'll keep checking and post back.

We got ours to work! Actually took a while to load up, like 5 days, but it loaded up eventually!

BTW, we booked via third party TA and already had $300 OBC from a Cyber Monday special, and it still loaded up. Took some time, and for a moment I worried we already had too much OBC, but lucked out.

My husband redeemed an award last week for $250 OBC, emailed Club Royale to have it applied to our cruise which was booked first week in December (within the 30 day period), but we cannot use it because we are in Australia and the cruise MUST be booked in USD or CAD! This stinks, we cannot do this unless we book through a US TA or Club Royal directly and have it charged in USD. Not fair at all.

Well I've got some bad news for MyVegas Slots players and fellow Royal Caribbean cruisers:

The $250 OBC is no longer being offered by Royal Caribbean! :(

Following my inquiry, I received this disappointing response this afternoon from Club Royale:

Good Day Judith,

Thank you for contacting Club Royale!

We are sorry to advise, that at this time the $250.00 OBC redemption option is no longer available via the MyVegas app. To the best of our knowledge this redemption option will not become available in the future.

Best Regards,

Sad, especially knowing I missed out on the last $250 OBC offering by mere hours. Oh well, guess I'll have to settle for the $100 OBC for now in case they do away with that one too. The 5% off is not worth it based on the price of the Allure cruise I just booked.

MSC still offers the $250 OBC. This, along with the black card tier match status they give Diamond and above C&A members, makes it even more tempting to perhaps book a future cruise with them.

Wonder if it would help to let Club Royale know how disappointing this is ...
