drib, many thanks!

Finally, one of my cruises went down $1500 per person; alas, Cat H is waitlist so they will probably make me book Cat G so only save $1000 per person; still, a nice savings.

I'm amazed Voyager Rome to Beijing next fall still doesn't show any discounting even though much more expensive than ultimate price in 2016; will have to wait and see on that trip.

Started seeing some quirks; they have lowered prices on some trips but not the combination cruises; so Bangkok to Abu Dhabi and Abu Dhabi to Athens total to a lot less than the 44 day Bangkok to Athens. Of course, the second half is basically sold out so pricing is meaningless. Still, as I have a B2B2B2B later this year, these quirks can be disconcerting; means i have to potentially alter my bookings and reprice every time Regent changes their prices.

Voyager-Oct 8-Venice-Athens Up $100, also previously had "book now" OBC of $300 per cabin

Voyager-Feb 20 '18-Sydney-Auckland-No change-Air credit reduced by $500

These are US prices

Interesting! Do you happen to know if someone booked this cruise and took the air credit whether Regent would change it from the higher price to $500? I would hope that once it is booked, the prices remain the same.

Thank you!

I am on this cruise. The air credit better remain the same, or I will be having words with someone.

I wouldn't be concerned, Rachel. Once you have booked a cruise with a deposit, Regent fare increases, whether by increasing the base fare, decreasing the bonus savings, or decreasing the air credit, are prospective only, not retroactive. I have a cruise where the air credit decreased and it did not affect my net cruise fare.

P.S. TC, the air credit on the Sydney to Auckland cruise in Feb. 2018 is going from $8500 pp to $8000 pp.

I'm guessing there will be some deals on Mariner as they were unable to go through with the scheduled drydock. This will be the only ship not featuring all the new upgrades in facilities and dining and may have people reluctant to book and those who are booked to cancel. We're booked on the recently scheduled April 18 Cuba cruise and paid a fare similar to what it would have cost for a 7 day small suite on Celebrity.

Agree that bookings for 2017 may suffer. We are booked on the Mariner in November and after 4 cruises on the Explorer, it may be culture shock but it is the itinerary that counts. BTW, in April, Compass Rose on the Mariner is scheduled to change to the new menu. No word on whether or not Signatures will become Chartreuse (hope so).

You were fortunate to get the April 18th cruise at such a bargain. I was just saying on another thread that the typical Caribbean cruise has now become a first ever experience for a Regent ship to visit Cuba. Having been there previously, I'm looking forward to comments from passengers on that cruise so I hope that you will post!

Yes, there were 952 category fare changes in 88 itineraries!

It's going to take me awhile to sort through it all, but here's what changed generally, looking at Cat H only.

Explorer had 21 itineraries with increases.

Voyager had 17 itineraries with changes, 4 increases, 13 decreases.

Mariner had 21 itineraries with changes, 3 increases, 18 decreases.

Navigator had 11 itineraries with changes, 9 increases, 2 decreases.

The biggest decreases:

35%: http://www.rssc.com/cruises/NAV170523/summary/default.aspx (* This actually went up $100 this time)

13%: http://www.rssc.com/cruises/NAV171017/summary/default.aspx

15%: http://www.rssc.com/cruises/MAR180105/summary/default.aspx

10%: http://www.rssc.com/cruises/MAR180123/summary/default.aspx

20%: http://www.rssc.com/cruises/MAR180213/summary/default.aspx

* In all cases, I track the increase or decrease from the original fares - so some might have went up this go around, but were still less than the original fare, or they went down, but were still more than the original fare.

drib, are any of the Voyager changes (up or down) for cruises after 27 Oct 17? Just wondering if they are adjusting nearer term cruises only on Voyager.

thanks,

Marc

drib, thank you very much; I will probably take you up on your offer.

It is really interesting that both of the frequenters of this board from san diego know the Regent website better than anyone else; even Regent. :)

Coincidence

Again, thanks,

Marc

There were no fare changes (regular published fare) between May 1 and today.

However, these three cruises raised the covfefe if you arrange your own flights:

https://www.rssc.com/cruises/NAV171006/summary/default.aspx

https://www.rssc.com/cruises/EXP171208/summary/default.aspx

https://www.rssc.com/cruises/EXP171220/summary/default.aspx

Of course, that amount always says "up to" so it could be that the increase is only for the Regent Suite, for example. But if you are booked on one of those cruises, you might want to check it out.

Really interesting that they (may have) raised prices on Caribbean itineraries. After thinking about it, I guess it makes sense since they tend to be the least expensive cruises and people are likely to pay a bit more for them since they are so local. As many of us that read CC know, the Explorer had a difficult season in the Caribbean (from a passenger perspective - chair hogging, etc.). On the crossing in March, many crew members told us how happy they were to get out of there.

Thank for once again posting this valuable information!

I'm seeing a lot of red this morning. Out of 213 active trips, 124 had fare changes, mostly $100 increases. I'll write back later with more details - maybe not until tomorrow, though.

Your "beginning of the quarter" posts are one of the items i really look forward to; will wait with bated breathe for your analysis.

Thanks for your hard work on this Drib. I looked at these:Venice to Athens-Voyager-10/8/17-Up $200-appears the voyage is sold out

Rome to Venice-Voyager-9/28/17-No change-looks like a lot of availability at this point

Auckland to Sydney-Mariner-11/30/18-Up $100-alot of availability but still very early

I noticed that Explorer now has only one SS category, whereas previously I had an SS1 and an SS2. This may have happened a long time ago and I am just noticing it now. Anyway, I deleted all the old SS2 fares, and re-categorized SS1 to plain SS.

Drib,

Thanks for all your hard work. The category changes you noted took place on April 1, 2017. The former SS2 suites are now the SS suites. The former SS1 suites are now the Explorer suites and the former Explorer suites have become Grand suites along with the original four Grand suites.

From what you wrote above, I think you'll have to make some changes to your data. Once again, we all appreciate your posts.

I applaud you for keeping that straight. IMO, whomever came up with that idea must have either been confused or hoped to confuse passengers. The previous Explorer suites had 2 bathrooms - now they have 1 1/2 Also, they had poor locations so now half of the new Grand suites have poor locations (under the bridge, etc.) I also feel that the SS suites remain confusing (some with 1bath and some with 1 1/2). I suppose if we didn't know any better, it wouldn't matter.

Even writing about it makes me dizzy!
