Can a onboard credit be used for the daily tipping charge?

No unless that's been changed. I think its the only thing that can't be other than maybe casino. We don't gamble so no first hand experience there!

If it was given to you by the cruise line, it can’t be used for the service charge.

We have a fairly substantial OBC and are hoping to use it towards excursions. Does anyone know if it can be used that way???

OBC can be used for excursions.

What about using for wifi?

Yes for wifi and excursions and booze. Also spa, gift shop, photos.

And the laundry package if booked on board. Unless something has changed, it can be used for excursions booked on board, but not those booked in advance.

My TA said that the OBC that he gave us as a gift can be used for anything including tips. It can also be cashed out. The OBC from Windstar has limitations. It cannot be used for tips or casino. You can spend it for drinks, spa, excursions, photos, gifts from the shop, Windstar logo items, wifi, laundry, flowers, transfers, and corkage. You get to choose how to spend it. It is easy to spend. I usually buy laundry package and some excursions. OBC is like frosting on a cake. It makes a great cruise a bit sweeter. I am certainly thankful for any OBC that I get.
