How far out to book specialty restaurants?

We are booked on HAL Koningsdam for Jan 14, 2018 sailing. Just looked on HAL website and only Tamarind, Sel de Mer and Canaletto are available to book ahead. Any idea when the others will be bookable? Thanks.

Should be available at the end of this month or mid November.

For some reason, HAL postpones these bookings a bit as the New Year approaches.

Can you prebook specialty restaurants with the Explore4? My travel agent told me I had to wait until onboard.

No, you cannot "pre-book" your Explore4 restaurant reservations, as HAL makes those "reservations" for you. But your TA was "sort of correct", as you may be allowed to change them after you are on board. Your concierge should be able to help you with that.

Smooth sailing :) :) :)

We book as soon as it becomes available on the website - usually around 6 months ahead. Just keep checking, they will suddenly appear.

Thank you FPJC03 for posting your question. We also try to book the specialty restaurants when they first become available to reserve our preferred venues, dates and times. Canaletto, Sel de Mer and Tamarind all are available to book now for our March 2018 Koningsdam cruise. I, too, find it odd that Pinnacle Grill is not.

We went through this wait last year when I had a cruise booked in January. I went back and found the old thread and it was right about now that the dining became available. Strangely, the PG for some cruises in June became available before it did on my January cruise.
