150 Central menu - Symphony

Recommended Posts

Hi,

We are going to be on Symphony in January and we purchased the 5 night dining package. Planned to use it for 150 Central, Chops Grille, Hooked Seafood and Jamie's. We are not interested (actually just Marie is not interested ;p) in Izumi and neither of us wants to do Wonderland again so we need a fifth location. Does 150 Central still do the split menu where they did one menu in the first half of the cruise and a different one in the second?

thanks

We have not seen the split menu in a Central Park for the last 2 years. In that time we have sailed on Oasis, Allure and Harmony. The menu is now just like a regular menu with choices from appetizers, mains and desserts. It is no longer a fixed menu.

There was only one menu on Symphony a few weeks ago however it was quite extensive and very good.

The last menus of the 150CP were created by Michael Schwartz. Since this cooperation ended they´ve rolled out a completely new menu. This one doesn´t change any more and has more choices. It´s a bit hard to read but check here for the menu and food photos of the Symphony.

  • 2 months later...

We were really disappointed with 150 Central Park on Symphony earlier this month (having previously been when it was the set tasting menus A & B).

No salts to add to your bread/butter any more, crispy pork belly was soggy, halibut main was tasteless & bland, lamb wellington was over-cooked & fried cheesecake desert was disappointing.

Things might improve over the winter routes with a change of kitchen team maybe?

We were on Symphony last week, disembarked yesterday morning and the menu was exactly the same all week.

This will be my first time sailing with RCI and trying to decide whether to buy a dining package for Symphony. Did anyone who bought this do so because they werent happy with the main restaurant menu or found it too repetitive or did you just fancy a change trying different venues?

There’s a variety of reasons why people buy the dining package.

Since this is your first time why not try the dining room and solarium Bistro (free) and decide fo4 yourself whether you want to add on a couple of specialty restaurants.

The vast majority of diners are satisfied with the MDR and do not buy the package.

We had the BOGO-Package for the first two nights on the Symphony. First night we tried out Hooked as this is a new restaurant for RCI. Second night it was our wedding anniversary so we went to Wonderland. We also had a (free) reservation for the Solarium Bistro which is much nicer and has a different concept on the Symphony. So we mainly booked to try out the new stuff. It wasn´t that we don´t like the MDR (but actually we do know the menus there).
