Paid Upgrade to JS or W

Recommended Posts

Was drink package free, or did you pay for that?

Something just tells me they should just pay you to go on this cruise?

No we paid for the drink package.

Many people get casino discounts and I understand many more do not and don’t understand them.

With that said, I have a suite guarantee. To your other post, I can stay in it. Wait for assignment and sail away. We just think with how heavily discounted this one was (buy watching prices, casino discounts, etc) we may want to upgrade. I have never been in anything other than a JS or lower. Not aware of all the full perks.

Drink package is needed. I’m not a heavy drink. Would break even or lose money. But I like to try different drinks without the thought of money if I don’t like it. I drink a lot of water. We are going to Labadee so would use it there as well.

We also have the 4 night specialty dining (we paid for) that we would use the drink package for.

Can't do the "broom closet". DW HAS to have at least a ocean balcony. Preferably a corner aft...[emoji41]

Okay then......since you have to have at least a ocean view balcony means, for a 7 day cruise most times you paying aleast $800 per person, $1600 total.............so if I offered you a crown Loft for additional $400..........would you take it? Cause that is what the OP has the option of doing?

Be honest now?

I'm going to guess they didn't pay for that either?.............I don't know maybe I'm just not getting it, but if someone at RCCL would come up to me and offer I Crown Loft Suite for $1000 per person for a 7 day cruise..........I would take it.

Jimbo this is why you and I will never retire early! I booked an upcoming GS on Harmony for $4300 for the 4 of us. For a while a Star Loft was available for $10,000 for the 4 of us. Now it is no longer available and I regret not taking it. If someone from RCI would call me I would happily give them the $5,700 difference but my phone isn't ringing.

The OP already has a JS.....I wouldn't pay $1300 more. Doesn't matter what I paid to start with.

We also never plan to cruise Oasis class ever again.....so no plans to have the opportunity to be in a CL.

The space within the walls really means nothing to us while on vacation. The only reason we pay a bit more ($50 a day max) for a JS is for the tub and closet.

those drink packages are so expensive, I wonder if you had your dining times during happy hour you could at least get your 3 free drinks there while eating, thus save from getting the drink package...................cause you can get an unlimited amount of water, wine and beer anytime you want it during the entire cruise.

Thank you for the first sentence. That’s what I’m trying to get feedback on. The single transaction. Not the total amount

Ha Ha!! some people are old school and just don't get it.

Sky Loft on our 12 night cruise is $17,000 presently, and only one left.

No, I just think you want everything for nothing. You pretty much got a free cruise all ready. ..................Jeez $780 for a JS.............there is no way they are going to give you anything higher then a JS for the price you are paying. You are stealing from them. Be sucky too if they put you in the worse JS on the entire ship too, when you had a chance to pick which ever crown loft cabin is available now.

I haven't looked at deck plans but I'm sure there is some locations worse then others......You can be sure you will get it to, for the price you are paying compared to others.

Lol. You’re a riot. Everything for nothing. You do realize it’s a casino comp. Casino. Last cruise we probably lost $2000 in roulette and slots through the 7 days realizing it would be us in this position. We had a great time though. You do the math.

That’s as long as I’m willing to entertain your comment.

ha ha...Did the casino force you to go in there..........you went in there for fun, enjoyment, entertainment. Was it fun for you? if not don't go back in there? You would have better luck going to the Indians (Foxwood wouldn't you..casino's on cruise ships are some of the worse odds anywhere!

I meant to say STAR Loft. I figured the STAR class amenities were worth about an extra $2k which is why I didn't pull the trigger. Now I wish I had. Oh well. I'll come back home with more money in my pocket.

Did you read my post or just comment.

“We lost 2000 in casino realizing it would put us in this position”.

We went there so we could become prime and get the free cruise.

“We had a great time though.”

We had fun. We enjoy gambling. Meeting people at the tables. Going for drinks with them etc.

Your comments have depleted in value as you continue. And yet my post remains the same. If you don’t understand the way the cruise points work, that’s fine, the question is still the question. But don’t get snippy with me, it’s pathetic.

CL gets you concierge escort off the ship at the end.

CK is really nice for breakfast and lunch

CL has No need for reservations and you get good seats for all shows except comedy

Prime members drink for free in casino

CL gets Barefoot Beach access

I keep seeing things about Barefoot Beach. Is it a nicer beach in Labadee?

It is a private beach for suite and pinnacle guests plus those who have rented cabanas there. Golf cart transportation to and from beach. Complimentary beach mats. Very rocky getting into the water so I wear water shoes. Great BBQ with seafood skewers and steak. Love it.

ALOT less crowded to then Labadee's regular beach............won't get Barefoot Beach staying in a JS.

This was almost exactly our situation. We were able to book a CL on Allure in September for under $2000 total for two people. It was a no brainer for us. What swayed me was the uniqueness of the Crown Loft, the location near CK, 24 hour access to CK, reserved seating at the shows, concierge walk off the ship, access to Barefoot Beach. The perks are just amazing and make this huge ship more intimate. I wanted a unique experience and the price was right.

OP, you might want to rethink the drink package if you upgrade to CL. As you started with a casino comp, you get free drinks in the casino, beer and wine in CK all day, and free cocktails during happy hour.

Let us know what you decide. Certainly is fun to 🤔.

Where do you get free cocktails during happy hour? Anywhere or just specific locations?

In the Suite Lounge which is connected to CK. We are Diamond and also get three free drinks per person per day to be used at most bars on the ship during Happy Hours.
