Paying final off early and doing doc dance

Can you print your docs/luggage tags off as soon as your final is paid for? If not how soon after? Final is due in Feb 2019 but may have it paid off in Sept.(Wanting too because going on another cruise 6 months after first cruise and want to start paying on that one)

Docs and luggage tags are usually available 49 days before sailing, unless you booked transfers or air with RCI. In that case it is usually closer to 30 days.

The day you pay has no bearing on anything other than your finances. Remember, if the pricing goes down you can still take advantage of the lower price (in North America) until final payment DATE, regardless of the balance owed.

If I need the points on my Sapphire card, I always pay our cruises off early for double points. Then, I have the points available for airfare. We just paid off 3 cruises 9 months early to qualify for our British Airways reward flight home next year.

I've set up my cruises for next year so that I can have them paid off by the spring. It's such a nice feeling to get it out of the way early.
