Just Back From Progresso

Just returned on Monday and had some unanswered questions about Progreso. The pier is LONG and walking it would not be an option for anyone... doubt it would be allowed anyway. The free shuttle bus took everyone into the town. The town itself is very tiny and did have many vendors on the street on the way to the beach which was only a 5 minute walk or so.

Once you reach the beach there are quite a few options. We chose to head to the right across from a shop of some sort with an OX or XO in it's name I think. There were women along the way who asked if we wanted a 30 minute massage for $10. We passed on that but were shown to two beachfront loungers and an umbrella for $10. I spoke to two ladies who had massages and they raved about them. The water was very clear and clean. The bottom was sandy and soft.

We ordered 10 mini Sol beer in a bucket for $10. Food was available as well though we did not have any. There were vendors/musicians constantly asking us things throughout the day. Most times a simple no or head shake and they moved along.

Overall we enjoyed this beach day better than the one at Paradise Beach Club in Cozumel and only spent $20 plus tips. Hope this information helps others who head there.
