Supply donations for PR, St. Martin, St. Thomas???

Recommended Posts

I haven't seen any recently for items like clothing, building supplies or food. Years ago my Father In Law told me about Episcopalrelief.org. Neither of us was/am big on religion. But as a hands on relief and development organization this one is probably the best. When Haiti was hit by the earthquake they had truckloads of water and medical supplies heading out of their base in the Dominican Republic within hours. They prepositioned survival supplies in Puerto Rico immediately before Irma hit . They are still there helping to restore electricity and meet the day to day needs of the people especially in the mountainous areas. They also play well with others like Convoy of Hope with food and water and Hugs of Love that visits the rural areas with pop up medical clinics for non-emergency care. They were also some of the first to the British VI and to the USVI. Because the diocese in Puerto Rico has some medical assets they have been very helpful. If you really wish to donate supplies you might try calling an Episcopal church near you and ask if they can guide you to what you want either through them or another non-profit. I am sure there are many who could still use Home Depot or Walmart gift cards in both PR and St Thomas. As for Sint Maarten I believe they just want you to come and eat lunch and buy local products and go on shore excursions to help thein economy recover. Oh, and the area has its own organization but I haven't heard much about its hurricane relief: Community Foundation of the Virginia Islands. Their site is cfvi.net.
